Inside: open-plan living, full kitchen, two bedrooms (queen + king-singles), one full bathroom, fireplace for winter. Smart TV, fast Wi-Fi if you must, but the lake usually wins.
Ninety minutes north of Sydney, twenty south of Newcastle. Bring kayaks (the launch is two minutes away) or just sit on the deck and watch the boats. Speers Point is fifteen minutes for groceries.
What we love about this place
- It's a hidden one
- Lake Macquarie doesn't get the press the Central Coast does, but the western shore is quieter, less crowded, and the sunsets over the water are extraordinary
